Track Fitness Sessions at Mark Hall Sports Centre
Join our track fitness sessions at Mark Hall Sports Centre and take your fitness to the next level. Suitable for all abilities, these coach-led sessions combine running drills, interval training, and endurance work to help improve cardiovascular fitness, speed, stamina, and overall health.
Whether you're new to exercise, looking to lose weight, improve your running, or enhance your performance in sport, our sessions are designed to challenge and support you at your own pace. With a motivating group environment and expert guidance, you'll build confidence, increase fitness levels, and work towards your personal goals while enjoying the benefits of outdoor training.
Sessions will include three options.
Option 1: 5km Time Trial (Effort Level 10)
A hard effort where youâre aiming to maintain your best sustainable pace for 5km. This should feel like a 10/10 effort by the end.
Option2: Zone 2 Conversational Pace to imrove aerobic base.
Option 3: Interval Repeats (Distances and Set-Up Will Vary Every Session)

Before You Arrive
â Hydrate well (donât wait until just before the session)
â Have a light meal or snack 1â3 hours beforehand (something with carbohydrates is ideal)
â Set up your GPS watch, heart rate monitor, Strava, Garmin, Runna, etc. before the session starts
â Wear appropriate running kit and bring a layer for the warm-up and cool-down
â If youâre doing intervals, consider setting up your workout on your watch beforehand to avoid faffing around on the track
A Few Extra Tips
âď¸ Arrive a few minutes early so youâre not rushing. Weâll meet inside just past reception.
âď¸ Think about your pacing plan before you start.
âď¸ Donât compare yourself to others; focus on executing your own session well
âď¸ Recovery starts tonightâbring water and try to get some protein and carbs in after the session
Most importantly, come ready to work hard and enjoy it. Whether youâre chasing a PB, building fitness, or just getting the session done, every rep counts.
