Instructor: Robert Schultz
This three-day class is in honor of instructor Robert’s blacksmithing mentors Jim Batson and Chuck Patrick, who taught him everything he knows about knife-making. Students will begin by forging a blade of high carbon steel, which will then be heat-treated (hardened and tempered) to create a very useful, edge-holding knife. Choose antler, bone, or hardwood for your handle material, and pour pewter or use forged steel for bolster and pommel fittings. All finishing will be done using files, stones, and sandpaper. Inquire about on-site camping options.
