Goats are a wonderful addition to any homestead or farm, producing high-quality milk, meat, and fiber. They have also grown in popularity for weed and brush management control. In this half day course, learn the basics of goat husbandry from local livestock farmer Bonnie Wideman. This class includes an overview of goat breeds, health and nutrition, infrastructure requirements, and kidding. Participants will feed and milk goats and then learn how to prepare homemade yogurt and chevre.
