These special days are a great opportunity for Home Educator families to visit the museum at a quieter time (we don’t take any school bookings on this day) and to take part in additional activities aimed at those children who would be in Years 1 – 7 were they at school. We don’t take any school or group bookings on this day, however we do offer a limited number of tickets to general public visitors.
What's included in the price?
• Full access to the museum galleries (including under 5's areas)
• A mix of bookable and drop-in activities for children aged 5-11yrs
• 10% discount in the Gift Shop all day (only available on 12 June 2026 and to booked HE families)
• 10% discount off the Eureka! Annual Pass (only available on 12 June 2026 and to booked HE families). This must be purchased before 2pm on the day.

robotics. Discover the essential components of a robot, learn how sensors work, and see how robots process information to perform amazing tasks!

Sniff and Snail
Age range: 3yrs and over
Get ready for a fun day of hands-on creative coding and robotics with Sniff and Snails!
What to expect:
Robot Art
Children will program Eli the ArtBot to draw on a giant canvas, creating a shared piece of robot-powered artwork for Eureka while discovering how code controls movement.
Build Your Own Cardboard Robot
Design and decorate your own cardboard robot, then add a simple “brain” and beginner-friendly coding to make it spin, move, and come to life - a brilliant introduction to robotics and physical computing.
Robot Invention Station
Draw your own robot, see it on the big screen, and enter a competition to win a Sniff and Snails coding kit. A relaxed, drop-in experience for curious children who love to make and create - no coding experience required. Drop in throughout the day and discover how coding brings robots to life

To book on to the Home Educator Day you must have at least one paying child aged 5 years or over.
All bookings should be made online via Bookwhen, we are unable to take bookings over the phone.
Payment must be made at the time of booking and if you are an existing Annual Pass holder, you’ll need the email address linked to your account.
Bookings will close at 3pm on Wednesday 10 June 2026 (or earlier if capacity is reached).
