Runswick Bay - In Search of Sea Dragons (ADULTS TOUR) with The Rock Showman

Kids are great right? But sometimes it's nice to have a bit of space for banter, adult conversation and really important things like 'what's that rock?'

This tour is for those who'd prefer a bit of non kid time (but still suited to the big kid at heart).

SUITABILITY RATING - Aimed at adults and older teenagers.
Please let us know if there are any mobility issues in your group - this itinerary often includes rock platform walking and some slippery sections and boulder fields.

START LOCATION - Benches on the Hill at the top of the beach path, just past the cafe.

PARKING - Runswick Bank Bottom Car Park, TS13 5HT is a small, busy, pay and display car park at the bottom of the hill. In Summer and on busy weekends this is regularly full, with the nearest parking at the top of the village. Allow 20 mins to park car and get to the start location. It is possible to drop off at the bottom of the hill, and park at the top.

Age range: Teenage upwards

This is a 2 hour tour starting from the Cafe near the Beach and usually heads NW towards Port Mulgrave. Your guide will take you on a journey back through ice ages towards the Jurassic and introduce the fossils that can be found from Earth's distant past at this classic location. Ammonites, Belemnites, Whitby Jet, Marine Reptiles bones and Ice Age fossils have all been found on this itinerary and your guide will give the story of these creatures and the environments in which they lived.

The tour leaves from the benches at the advertised start time so please come about 15 minutes before, giving enough time to use public loos located here.
