Deep Stretch Yin is a weekly, floor-based Yin Yoga class designed to help you slow down, release tension and create more space in the body and mind.
In this gentle practice, postures are held for longer periods of time, usually around 3–5 minutes, giving the body time to soften gradually. We’ll work with deep stretches that support the connective tissues, joints and fascia, helping to ease tightness, improve flexibility and encourage a calmer nervous system.
A Thursday evening practice offers a pause point towards the end of the week: time to ease out the build-up of work, screens, driving and day-to-day busyness before Friday begins.
Each class has its own theme and focus, so the practice feels steady but varied across the block. You can expect a quiet, spacious class with plenty of options, so you can work with your own body and find useful sensation rather than the strongest sensation.
In the final class of the block, you’ll get to vote on whether we focus on the lower body, upper body or side body, giving you a say in how we close the series.
The practice will close with a spacious savasana, giving you time to rest, absorb the benefits of the practice and shift into a slower, softer state before you head home.
Deep Stretch Yin is a lovely complement to more dynamic yoga, sport, gym work, running, walking, or simply the busyness of everyday life. It’s also a great option if you spend a lot of time sitting, driving, working at a desk or carrying tension in your body.
No previous yoga experience is needed. This class is suitable for most levels, including beginners, and modifications will be offered throughout.
Come as you are, stretch deeply, breathe fully and leave feeling calmer, softer and more at ease.
Yin Yoga is a slower, floor-based practice, so wearing plenty of warm layers is a good idea.
Please bring:
A yoga mat
Two yoga bricks/blocks, if you have them
A bolster or large rectangular pillow
A blanket and eye pillow, if you’d like to get extra cosy
Props are highly recommended for this class as they help you feel more supported and comfortable in the longer-held postures.

There is another class taking place directly before this session. Please wait quietly in the lobby until the studio is ready, and be mindful of students leaving the earlier class.

All sales are final. There are no refunds, transfers or rollovers for classes not attended.
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to pass your space to a friend. Please let me know at least 24 hours before class so I can update the attendee details.
New students will need to complete a Student Registration Health Form 24 hours before attending.

Sept/Oct Block Booking
Consecutive weekly classes for Deep Stretch Yin at Houlton (£12 per class). By booking a block of classes, you are receiving a discounted price for a place in that class. Any classes not taken within the block are not transferable, refundable or extendable. If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to pass your space to a friend. Just let me know at least 48 hours before class.
