Through demonstration, students are introduced to each new decorative process before experimenting and combining techniques with guidance and feedback from the tutor. This practise of combining processes encourages students to develop their own unique style and expression. Experiment on simple jewellery designs such as rings or pendants.
Introduction to decorative surface design principles
Demonstrations of etching, reticulation, fusing and mokume-gane techniques
Exercises exploring pattern and texture
Learn how to apply various finishes including high shine, matte, satin and antiqued finishes
Turning your new skills into finished jewellery pieces
Individual project support throughout from the tutor
Course fees include solder and saw blades. Metals, findings and a variety of stones are available for purchase at the school.
