Join jewellery school as we celebrate Manchester Jewellery Week with a brand new course, Anodised Aluminium Jewellery. This new creative and fun filled 3 hour introduction will be held in the beautiful Manchester Craft and Design Centre in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter. This new course will cover different anodising techniques including how to apply colour and use stamps to create images. Our tutors, with over 30 years combined experience, will guide students through each of the processes. As with all our class the pace is slow and relaxed with students having the opportunity to practice each techinque before moving on. We will be using aluminium, stamps and alcohol markers, with demonstrations given for the different skills, followed by time to apply these skills. Once the skills are refined, each person will make an anodised pendant or pair of earrings which they have designed and personalized from start to finish, and the piece will be theirs to take away.

We welcome students aged 10 and over to our classes, we just ask those under 16 are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The class is held in Space 2 on the ground floor of Manchester Craft and Design Centre, the building opens at 10 and the class will start at 10.15

The Manchester Craft and Design Centre is a Grade II listed building, an old Victorian Fish Market, the only still standing in the area and as such, never a constant temperature. The glass roof sometimes makes the place draughty in winter and hot in summer. We would recommend bringing some layers to help with temperature regulation, and not wearing open toes shoes as some of the tools used in the class can be heavy. As we will be soldering if you have long hair a bobble or something to hold it in place is help. If you wear glasses it would be helpful to have them with you as some details of different skills are very fine. Lastly, we do offer drink however with the building being so warm at the moment you are welcome to bring your own extra ones.
If for any reason you are unable to attend the class please contact us as soon as possible. To reschedule the class you must inform us up to 96 hours prior to the start time of the class, to enable us to offer your places to our waiting list.
