Join jewellery school for a creative and fun filled day of ring making in the beautiful Manchester Craft and Design Centre in the heart of Manchesters Northern Quarter. The course, our most popular, covers a multitude of skills; shaping, stamping, hammering, texturing and silver soldering. Our tutors, with over 20 experience combined, will also teach students how to saw, file, size rings and finish silver work. As within all our class the pace is slow and relaxes with students having the opportunity to practice will begin using copper, with demonstrations given for the different skills, followed by time to apply these skills. Once the skills are refined, each person will make a sterling silver ring, they have designed and personalized from start to finish, and the ring will be theirs to take away.

We welcome students aged 10 and over to our classes, we just ask those under 16 are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The class is held in Space 2 in Manchester Craft and Design Centre, the building opens at 10 and the class will start at 10.15

The Manchester Craft and Design Centre is a Grade II listed building, an old Victorian Fish Market, the only still standing in the area and as such, never a constant temperature. The glass roof sometimes makes the place draughty in winter and hot in summer. We would recommend bringing some layers to help with temperature regulation, and not wearing open toes shoes as some of the tools used in the class can be heavy. As we will be soldering if you have long hair a bobble or something to hold it in place is help. If you wear glasses it would be helpful to have them with you as some details of different skills are very fine. Lastly, we do offer drink however with the building being so warm at the moment you are welcome to bring your own extra ones.
If for any reason you are unable to attend the class please contact us as soon as possible. To reschedule the class you must inform us up to 72 hours prior to the start time of the class, to enable us to offer your places to our waiting list.
