When people think of permitted actions, they often assume they don’t use them with the people they support. However, permitted actions are quite common and are a frequently missed in required 245D documentation requirements Permitted actions are ways in which we can compassionately support someone that effectively uses touch or physical redirection.

  • Permitted actions allowed according to MN Statutes, Chapter 245D and MN Rules, Chapter 9544
  • How to recognize the difference between a permitted action and prohibited procedure
  • Documentation requirements for the use of planned permitted actions in each person's support plan addendum

When we increase our knowledge of these actions, we can confidently train our staff to understand and implement them correctly.
