What the Courts have said about Hoarding and Self-Neglect - briefing session with Tim Spencer-Lane (via Zoom)

Questo è un evento online.

Le istruzioni per l'iscrizione saranno fornite dopo la prenotazione.

Dettagli

This session will be led by Tim Spencer-Lane, a lawyer who specialises in mental capacity, mental health and social care law.

This is a live briefing session, via Zoom, and you will be able to ask questions in real-time using the chat function on your screen. The session will NOT be recorded.

Aim:

This is an issue that seems to be increasing, and it's often difficult for health or social care professionals to know what the law (or laws, plural) says or say about supporting people. So we'll try to unpick some relevant case law during this session.

The topics covered will include:

  • Hoarding and the Mental Capacity Act
  • Eligibility for services
  • Adult safeguarding in cases of self-neglect
  • The inherent jurisdiction and self-neglect
  • Environmental and public health interventions
