There’s something rather lovely about the garden in late winter. The borders may still be quiet, but seed heads, bare stems, winter foliage and the first signs of spring all offer plenty of inspiration for botanical illustration. ❄️🌿
Join us in the Glasshouse for a relaxed and creative day with talented local botanical artist Alison Walker, a member of the Irish Society of Botanical Artists.🖌️🖼️
Alison will guide you through careful observation, drawing techniques and watercolour application, helping you create your own botanical study inspired by the Walled Garden. Whether you’re completely new to botanical illustration or already enjoy painting, Alison’s friendly and encouraging approach will help you work at your own pace.

No previous experience is necessary. Come on your own or bring a friend and enjoy a day of looking closely at the garden, learning something new and getting creative in the warmth of our Glasshouse.

If a workshop proceeds as scheduled, we regret that we cannot offer refunds for unused tickets due to circumstances beyond our control, such as adverse weather or travel issues.
