Note: This is offered as a block booking OR individual classes can be booked.
This is an 5-week summer course for beginner-level Irish dancers with a few month's experience who want to keep learning Irish dancing in a fun and supportive environment!
Each class will cover both heavy and light dancing, so you can build your confidence with both. In the summer, we will be focusing on technique and basics.
This is perfect for dancers who...
โข Already have a bit of beginners experience
โข Are getting comfortable with the very basics of soft shoe dancing (threes, sevens, jumps, rise and grind), and have started some basic heavy shoe dancing, or interested in starting heavy shoe from scratch.
โข Are confident in other dance styles and able to pick up steps quickly
If you are a total beginner wanting to start slowly from scratch and want to break everything down from scratch, please see our Absolute Beginners Footwork course taking place in July, Wednesday 8pm.
๐ฅ These steps should look totally manageable: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IQKgzKWeGTdsNraSEE7Zd0WqtFFzVfU3/view?usp=drive_link
๐๐ป Your teacher will be Jessie Leach - certified Irish Dancer teacher with CLRG, former Riverdance cast member and former All-Ireland, Great Britain and North American champion of Irish Dance.
๐ฅ This is a social class with optional post-jig swig at The Boogaloo down the road!
Note: This course is offered as a block booking only, so the group can build on steps this week
Level: Beginner
๐ง Bring a bottle of water and wear something you're happy to sweat in! Loop earplugs are recommended to anyone who is sensitive to loud sounds. You're welcome to wear heavy shoes or tap shoes if you have them, or trainers are perfect!
๐ฅ Every week we'll have an optional post-jig swig at The Boogaloo down the road
