Details

This is a 2.5 hour workshop with the world-class Lauren Smyth, focusing on both light shoe and heavy shoe performance.

The workshop will cover performance technique, arm movements, posture and stage presence, and 2 short choreographies in soft and heavy shoe, inspired by festival style Irish dancing.

By the end of the workshop, you will feel more confident in your performance ability and technique, and we will also perform two short choreographies together.

This class is aimed at Jig and a Swig dancers from the following classes:

  • Monday Int/Adv Light Shoe
  • Wednesday Intermediate
  • Wednesday Advanced

ABOUT LAUREN SMYTH

Lauren Smyth is a world-renowned Irish dancer, celebrated for her exceptional talent, captivating stage presence, and significant contributions to the world of Irish dance. Hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Lauren's passion for dance began at a young age, and she quickly distinguished herself as a formidable talent in competitive Irish dancing.
