As Samhain approaches and the veil between worlds begins to thin, we gather on the sand.
Two days before Halloween, in the oldest tradition of this season, we come together to dance, to honour, to release and to remember. Fire at the centre. Sea beside us. A bright moon overhead. Headsets on.
This is WildBop but wilder. More sacred. More intentional.
We'll open in circle around the fire, ground ourselves and set our intentions for the dark half of the year that begins now. Come with someone in your heart to honour as the veil thins. Someone who has passed, an ancestor, anyone whose memory you want to carry into the dance and feel close tonight.
We share ceremonial cacao for those who choose to, breathe together, then move through a guided warm up before we dance. The musical journey builds from earthy, grounding rhythms through to something more expansive and transcendent, carefully curated to take you somewhere, before bringing you gently back down. No routines, no choreography, no right or wrong way to move. Dance as big or as small as you like. Feel the sand beneath your feet and just move.
We close back at the fire with a guided meditation, coming back into stillness together before we part.
Open to all, no experience needed.
What to bring:
Warm layers, it could be cold
Water
Yoga mat or something to sit on
Bare feet, sea shoes or waterproofs if you prefer to keep warm
Arrive upto 15 mins before to collect your headset and ground . We will be on the beach behind Hove Lagoon in front of the boating clubs (the beach in front of the end of the beach huts).
Bring: layers (it gets breezy!), water, and bare feet or sandy-friendly /waterproof shoes. Something small to sit on is lovely for the opening and closing.
This is unguided, ecstatic style dance - no routines, no right or wrong way to move. 🌿

We’ll meet on the beach directly south of Hove Lagoon (Kingsway, BN3 4LX) - cross the promenade from the lagoon and come down onto the sand. Look for the humans and headsets!
