Monday, 6 November '23   4:30pm – 8:30pm GMT
McGavin Park, Dalry Road, Kilwinning, Ayrshire, KA13

Details

Kilwinning Community Fireworks on Monday 6 November 2023 at McGavin Park

We encourage advance donations to ensure we can fully fund the event.

If we reach capacity your donation confirmation will become your entry ticket so even if full we’ve allowed for you to get in.
We suggest different donation amounts depending on the size of your group with the main suggested donation of £10 for a family. However, these amounts are just a guide - please just donate whatever you can afford.

Our costs for fireworks event are increasing year on year and we receive very little direct regular Council and no Lottery funding for this event. Donations are essential to ensure we can run the event each year.

We are grateful for all donations in advance and we thank you for your support.

For information

  • food outlets and rides open at 4.30pm
  • fire acts and free balloon art start at 5.00pm
  • Lower noise shorter display at 6pm
  • Pyromusical full scale display at 7.30pm

Remember
Wear warm clothes, wellies or boots as we have wet grass underfoot and we recommend you also bring a torch.

Please make sure your children have a note of your name and mobile number in case you get separated. Please advise your children to approach any steward or go to the pavilion building if separated.

Please do not bring DIY fireworks, sparklers, alcohol or glass into the park as you will be refused entry as we reserve the right to search bags at the event.

We we are always looking for sponsors and donations to maintain the event so if you, or your company would like to help, please contact us via our Facebook page.

We hope you enjoy fireworks whether your watching in the park, from afar or online.

Instructions

Getting to the park and parking at Fireworks in the Park

Please consider all other options before driving to Fireworks in the Park, wherever possible.

Driving

We will have 'park and walk' routes signposted from Kilwinning Railway Station via Claremont Crescent and Kilwinning Town Centre along with parking in the college with a walking route via Kilwinning Academy.

Blue Badge Parking is limited at Kilwinning Academy as the school is open. Please have your badge ready as you approach the school and stewards will direct you.

The above options mean you are not caught in traffic as much on arrival, but especially on departure.

Please follow the signage and stewards will help. Please do plan to arrive early.

Public Transport

The No 11 bus route runs near the park and Beith and Irvine buses stop right outside the park. Kilwinning Train Station is a 8 to 10 minute walk to the park.

Toilets are at the Pavilion which includes an accessible toilet.

On site vendors include

  • Staples Burger and Fish & chip Vans
  • Donuts
  • Ice Cream (and sweets)
  • Glow Sellers
  • Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be available from multiple vendors / stalls

Please only used the licensed operators in the park.

First Aid and Lost Children please go straight to the Pavilion.

Various rides to suit a range of ages (all weather permitting) opening at 4.30pm with charges applying paid direct to the operators.

Balloon Art from Fabulous Fraser and Uncle Billy will be available from 5pm - this is free but donations towards costs are welcomed via the donations buckets.

Fire Acts behind the safety line From 5.30pm

If you are looking for a quieter spot to watch the fireworks then we recommend heading to behind Underwood.

Its worth repeating that the fireworks event is delivered by a very small group of volunteers who form Kilwinning Community Events and we receive very little direct regular Council or Lottery funding so donations are essential to keeping the event going. We will have buckets at most entrances and welcome donations of any amount.
