Mike the Snow

Aberdare born & bred, now living in Cardiff. Mike is a professional ski instructor based in the Niseko Resort Area of Hokkaido, Japan since 2006.

Although he came to the sport later in life - his first ski season was Chalet Host in Ellmau, Austria in 1993 at 27 years of age - he's skied every year since.

Mike started skiing the Brecon Beacons National Park in April 1997 and over the past 25 years has put in over 100 days. It's often very average, but when it's on it's glorious!

Throughout the winter months we will be hosting 4 talk & food evenings at Base Camp Cafe. Our idea is to celebrate those awesome people in our local area, the ones that are going out week in week out and doing amazing things.

From high end local sport climbing to skiing in the Brecon Beacons, the classic rock round to some seriously out-there family holidays.

Each evening will have themed food, please let us know of any dietary requirements. Menu will be made available closer to the talk.
