Details

As we near the winter season with most leaves having already fallen, join us for an introduction to identifying trees using just the buds, twigs and bark. We will explore some of the key features to look out for and work through a specific identification key for winter twigs.

Wildlife recording is an essential part of managing Charnwood Forest’s landscape, and over the next few years, there will be a range of opportunities online and out on site to increase your knowledge, skills and confidence in identifying and recording flowers and grasses, birds, butterflies, hedgerow species, fungi, trees and much more. Anyone can get involved in wildlife recording and the more quality records we have, the better we can care for Charnwood Forest.

This training session is part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership scheme.
