A one day 5Rhythms Waves workshop on the longest day of the year - Summer Solstice.
Sacred dance at Summer Solstice is a deep rooted practice for we who honour the earth and sun in our spiritual path.
In this season of ripening and peak growth, sweetness erupts in fruit and vegetables. The aroma of nectar and flowers is carried on a gentle breeze. Human hearts beat faster and the evenings are full of light.
With the ease and comfort of warmth, excitement and sacred celebration come naturally.
Resources are needed to support this strong energy. Just as plants need water, nutrients and sun to thrive, we humans also have our needs.
We have obvious physical needs like food and water. However, as we dance at this heroic time of year our subtle yearnings and dreams come pulsing into our reality
We will call on the great sun's energy to open blockages and allow our hearts desires to flow freely.
In our dance we follow the 5Rhythms Waves map of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. We will enrich our journey with somatic exercises and vocal sharing.
Mary will bring her passion for this dancing practice, together with grounded physical embodiment. She brings reflection, protection and a sensitive awareness, to her facilitation.
Mary Hedger is an accredited 5Rhythms Teacher, all hours danced with her count as study towards the teaching path. This workshop counts as 1 day at Waves level.
