i first started yoga as a way to move without putting to much stress on my body and i quickly discovered what an effective and accessible practice it is
i studied to be a british wheel of yoga qualified teacher for two years with triyoga in london under the expert guidance of anna ashby and joey miles, graduating in 2016.
i typically teach an alignment-based style of hatha yoga, integrating good anatomical posture with breath work. creating space in the body through proper alignment is really important to maintain mobility (and an injury-free body) over time and as a result, my classes tend to be slower with poses held a little longer than some of the more dynamic yoga styles.
as the years have passed, i’ve become increasingly interested in women’s health at varying stages of their lives, and how yoga can be used as a complement to whatever they are experiencing at that time. as a teacher, i’m particularly interested in mid-life through to our later years. i’m a qualified menopause yoga teacher and a strong advocate for menopause awareness.
i'm a huge football fan, which wouldn't explain why i support aston villa. i'm also an animal lover and will soon be adding goats to our family of chickens, cats and humans.
