This class is about dancing as if nobody’s watching.
You do not need any experience in dance - only a desire to move your body and a willingness to explore - if you have a body then you are dancer already! This is a space to dance your dance, after all, if you don't do your dance who will?
Generally we begin classes with a warm-up to simply stretch your body and to allow yourself to relax into movement. You will then be guided through a 'wave' of music and movement, being guided by the 5 Rhythms of the practice - Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness throughout which you have the opportunity to simply create your own dance movements.
Have you ever danced like nobody’s watching?
Danced with freedom, without a care in your mind?
What would that be like? How would that feel?
Whether or not you want to come to relax after a stressful week at work, or to shake it all out and let your hair loose, or simply to move and dance to your own rhythm, 5Rhythms dance and movement classes will definitely invigorate you.
See you on the dance-floor!
About 5Rhythms® (see also FAQs below)
5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice—a practice of being in your body—that ignites creativity, connection, and community.
Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness and awareness into action. Wherever the 5 Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, the change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego's hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge walking, rock-star part of ourselves that yearns to be free.
Creativity. Connection. Community.
