Join us after dark to explore the amazing world of bats at South Park!
We'll be looking for a variety of different bat species, which use the varied habitats in this urban green space.
With the help of bat detectors and torches, we will view and learn about these amazing and misunderstood creatures as they emerge at night!
Suitable for ages 7+
We will begin at 7pm, just before it gets dark, for a short introduction about the fascinating world of bats and how we can find them.
We will then head out into the park to explore different habitats, using special bat detectors to search for different bat species as they emerge and hunt!
Please wear appropriate clothing for being outdoors, including sturdy footwear and warm clothing depending on the temperature. Insect repellent is also recommended as night time brings out a lot of the critters which our bats will be searching out to eat!
We will have torches and special bat detectors will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own torch.
