Aurora Nova - Chair Tricks & Tips - Workshop

This workshop explores the art of chair tricks and transitions, blending strength, balance, flow and theatricality into exciting movement sequences. Whether you’re brand new to chair dance or already experienced, you’ll discover how to use the chair as both a prop and a fabulous dance partner!

🚨IMPORTANT - All attendees must bring your own chair that is suitable for tricks (i.e. Argos metal folding chair). You will not be able to use the studio's chairs as they are not suitable. Aurora has a couple of spare chairs that attendees can borrow, however you must request in advance via auroranovaburlesque@gmail.com

What to Expect

• Beginner-friendly foundations: Learn safe techniques for mounts, balances, and transitions.
• Progressions for all levels: Always lots of options to modify to simplify or to challenge yourself with dynamic balances, spins, and stylized flourishes. Take class at your own pace!
• Creative flow: Learn how to connect tricks into smooth, expressive combinations.
• Empowerment through movement: Build confidence as you explore new skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Suitable for beginners & beyond, no prior experience is needed - just curiosity and a willingness to play. The aim of this workshop is to help you feel confident incorporating chair tricks into your own routines, whether for performance, class, or pure fun.

All payments for Aurora Nova classes are final and non-refundable at point of sale.

If you are unwell, please stay home. You will not be allowed to enter class if you are unwell with a contagious illness, or you do not know if it's contagious. This is to prevent spreading it to others and the teacher, in class. This applies to ALL illnesses, not just Covid-19.
