Exploring movement through bones, joints, and alignment.
In this workshop, we turn our attention to the body’s structural framework - the skeleton - and explore how it supports movement. By tuning into the bones and joints, we can begin to feel how movement flows naturally, efficiently, and with less effort.
We’ll explore four core neurological actions: yield, push, reach, and pull, and how they relate to alignment, pathways of weight, and sequential flow in yoga postures.
Discover the pathway of weight through the skeleton
Sense the difference between compression (yield/push) and elongation (reach/pull)
Explore closed-chain and open-chain movements in asana
Bend and straighten limbs mindfully to promote yielding and ease
Maintain connection to the ground while extending or reaching
Notice tension points in wrists, shoulders, feet, knees, and hips
Follow the natural pathway of push for optimal flow and internal alignment
Through guided movement and felt sensing, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how the skeleton supports and organizes movement, allowing postures to feel safer, more stable, and more effortless.
Who It’s For
Anyone wanting to improve alignment, reduce tension, and move with greater ease and efficiency.
Beginners and experienced practitioners alike will benefit from learning how the skeleton can guide movement rather than resist it.
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket for comfort
