About this GAPS Workshop:
Cultural intelligence is a vital skill in today’s diverse landscape, but has always been important in social care. This session offers a supportive space to reflect, learn, and build on your existing skills. Shabnam will introduce models and tools to enhance inclusivity and equity in your practice. By developing cultural attunement, you’ll foster stronger relationships with the adults, children, carers, families and colleagues that you came into the profession to walk alongside, while promoting anti-oppressive practice.
What you will come away with:
Increased Awareness: Understand the concepts of cultural intelligence and cultural attunement, and why they are essential in social care practice.
Reflective Practice: Engage in meaningful discussions through break out rooms to explore cultural diversity, reflect on current practices, and identify areas for growth.
Practical Tools for Action: Learn actionable strategies and tools to embed cultural intelligence and attunement into your daily work, empowering you to engage with diversity with greater sensitivity and effectiveness.
The workshop will be highly engaging and interactive There will be time for group work and individual personal reflection.
