Carbon Literacy Training for Community Leaders - Sustainability

Community leaders in Horsham District are invited to participate in a new Carbon Literacy training course being delivered by Horsham District Council.

The carbon literacy course is an accredited course that helps us understand the causes and impacts of climate change, the role that local authorities and community groups have in influencing action on climate change, and the wider benefits that can come from the transition to a low carbon economy, including improved health, cleaner air, better access to green spaces and greater resilience to extreme weather.

This one-day course will help you understand why climate change is occurring, provide you with the knowledge and skills to take action against climate change, and give you the opportunity to be certified as Carbon Literate. Come along, wherever you are on your sustainability journey, to learn and connect with other community leaders on this important topic.

Time: 9am – 5pm (Arrival at 8:45am)
Where: Horsham District Council Offices, Albery House, RH12 2GB
Cost: Free (£10 deposit when booking, refundable on attendance)

There will be some short pre- and post- course work to gain the Carbon Literate certification. A light lunch is provided to all attendees during the day.

Deposit information
We will take a £10 deposit to secure your place on this training course. Your deposit will be refunded if:
• You attend the training course.
• You cancel your place with more than 48 hours’ notice.

We cannot refund your deposit if:
• You cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice.
• You do not show up on the day of the training.
