Introduction to Grade 1 Scrambling in Snowdonia, North Wales

If you're an experienced hill walker looking to take the next step beyond mountain paths, this 2-day Grade 1 scrambling course in Snowdonia, North Wales is designed to introduce you to the more adventurous side of the mountains.

Based in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, you'll spend two days learning how to move confidently over steep, rocky and exposed terrain while developing the skills needed to tackle Grade 1 scrambles in North Wales.

You don't need any previous scrambling or climbing experience. The course is aimed at hill walkers who already have some mountain experience and want to learn how to scramble safely, efficiently and confidently.

We'll cover everything from movement and footwork to route choice, route finding, managing exposure, mountain weather and emergency procedures. Most importantly, you'll spend plenty of time actually scrambling in the mountains, putting those skills into practice.

Depending on weather, conditions and your experience, we may tackle some of the classic scrambling routes around Eryri, including Tryfan North Ridge, Bristly Ridge, Y Gribin Ridge, Ddear Ddu Ridge and Crib Goch.

The aim isn't simply to get you up a Grade 1 scramble. It's to give you the knowledge and confidence to understand how to choose an appropriate route, move efficiently over rocky ground and make good decisions in the mountains.

If you're looking for a beginner scrambling course in Snowdonia or North Wales, this is the ideal place to start.
