Ready to turn your practice upside down?
Join Lauren for a playful, empowering workshop exploring the foundations of handstands. We’ll break everything down step by step, helping you understand how to use strength, alignment, technique and confidence—not just momentum—to support your practice.
You’ll explore wrist and shoulder preparation, core connection, weight transfer, balance and safe ways to enter and exit each pose. With accessible progressions, individual guidance and plenty of time to play, you can work at a level that feels right for you.
No handstand or arm-balance experience is required. You don’t need to arrive fearless, flexible or already able to hold yourself upside down. Come with curiosity, expect a few wobbles and leave with new skills, greater confidence and a deeper understanding of what your body can do.
All levels are welcome, with options to challenge both beginners and more experienced practitioners.
Attendee Information
What to bring
Lauren will bring a crash mat to support you during your practice, alongside your yoga mat. The crash mat will be used to help you feel more comfortable and supported while exploring inversions and arm balances.
What to wear
Wear comfortable, close-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely without restricting your hips, shoulders or wrists. Leggings, fitted shorts, a vest top or T-shirt are all suitable. Avoid loose tops, as they may fall over your face during inversions, and avoid clothing with zips, buckles or anything that could feel uncomfortable when placing weight on your hands.
Bare feet are recommended for the workshop to help you feel grounded and maintain grip on your mat.
What to know
This workshop is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. You’ll be guided through each stage with options to adapt or progress the practices according to your experience and confidence.
Please listen to your body throughout the session and take breaks whenever you need to. You are never expected to force a pose or work beyond your comfort level. Let Lauren know before the workshop if you have any current or recent injuries, particularly affecting your wrists, shoulders, neck or back, or if you have any health concerns that may affect your practice.
Come ready to learn, wobble, laugh and enjoy the process.
