Are you interested in getting to know your local wildlife better and helping to contribute to our knowledge of local biodiversity?
Join us to learn about the importance of biodiversity recording and how you can get involved using the amazing iNaturalist mobile app.
After some training and useful tips around using the app, we will put it to the test by having our own Bioblitz at Ray Park, finding as many species as we can!
Suitable for ages 13+
This day will be focused on using the iNaturalist mobile app, an excellent tool which allows you to identify and record any wildlife which you may encounter through photos taken on your phone.
If you are attending this event, please download the iNaturalist app (available on Android and IOS). We will start by introducing the app and then get into how it can be best used, including tips on how to get the best identifications.
We will then put these skills into practice by venturing out into the park to search for wildlife, using different survey techniques. This will allow us to then identify and record any sightings through the iNaturalist app.
We believe that the recording of wildlife is vital in efforts to protect it and this is a fantastic way in which people can help us achieve that goal!
