Little Wildlings
A gentle woodland adventure for little explorers.
Little Wildlings is a nurturing forest school session for children from first steps to 5 years, alongside their parent, grandparent, or caregiver.
Held in the beautiful Den Woods between Airyhall and Countesswells, and forming part of the wider Hazlehead Woods, these sessions offer a gentle rhythm of play, discovery, and connection in nature. Designed especially for younger children, Little Wildlings provides a safe and welcoming space to explore, build confidence, and enjoy the simple joys of childhood outdoors.
Each session includes:
🌿 Open-ended play stations such as painting, sensory exploration and our mud kitchen. Continuous play opportunities allow little ones to follow their interests, develop new skills, and build confidence at their own pace.
🌿 A woodland exploration walk, often with a simple seasonal mission to collect natural treasures for our craft activity. Along the way, we'll splash in puddles, search for tiny woodland wonders, and embrace the magic of nature through a child's eyes.
🌿 A simple nature-inspired craft to create and take home.
🌿 Songs, stories, and circle time, encouraging communication, imagination, and connection.
🌿 Age-appropriate group games that support confidence, coordination, and social skills through fun and play.
🌿 A campfire lunch, prepared together and enjoyed around the fire, creating opportunities for children to learn, help, and share in the experience.
Little Wildlings nurtures curiosity, resilience, creativity, and a lifelong connection to nature, while offering families the opportunity to slow down, connect, and create meaningful memories together in the woodland
