Detaljer

'Language for Thinking' is one of the most widely used spoken language interventions in UK schools. Developed by Stephen Parsons and Anna Branagan and published by Routledge/Speechmark. It is popular because it is easy to implement and staff see its impact. It is based on 'Blank' questions which support children's ability to answer more abstract questions such as 'why?' and 'how do you know?' It is particularly suited to those with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) including Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and Autism.

The aim of this course is to help group facilitators get started with LFT or to get more confidence with the entire approach. even better.

Learning Outcomes
To understand the thinking behind LFT.
To understand how to use LFT.
To know how to support children to get better at answering the questions.
To have experience of scoring assessments.
To be aware of evidence supporting LFT.

This course is aimed at support staff including teaching assistants, learning support assistants and Speech and Language Therapy assistants. Staff who supervise these staff, including SENCOs will find the course useful as well.
