The Roost is the older sibling of The Nest, Glasgow's outdoor learning community for young people guided by the principles of:
Consent
Self-direction
Nature led learning
We meet on Tuesdays between 10am - 4pm for a day of outdoor learning and play in the woods.
Facilitated by a core team and supported by a regular volunteer, young people aged 12-16* are welcome to join us.
This first block is being run as a pilot to allow us to plan and develop the next block as a regular offering informed by the groups' needs.
Please note that drop off/collection in at our storage facility at Locavore Bellahouston.
*Age categories are not strictly enforced - we assess each person where they are at, however these are our suggested groupings based on our experience of running sessions and of meeting individual needs.
What to wear/pack:
Suitable outdoor clothing for climate - see handbook for full list
Spare leggings and a long sleeved top.
Waterproof gloves.
Packed Lunch, snacks, water.
Mug for a hot drink.
Flannel/wash cloth with their name on it.
