Tonight is the first time that Old Coulsdon Camera Club, Sheffield Photographic Society and NDPS members will compete together in a new novel photo-competition.

To attend the competition which will be held via ZOOM members of all three clubs are required to reserve a place using the following link. Please be careful to use the correct option.

Initially, 30 places have been allocated to each club until 11:45pm on Sunday 21st November. After that a new booking window will be open from 10:00am on Monday 22nd when all remaining places will be offered to all three club's members on a first come first served basis
Here is an overview of the rules:

TEAMS

1) Each ‘club’ shall nominate TWELVE (12) members to compete in the competition.

2) The competition shall be between THREE (3) teams each consisting of FOUR (4) members from each of the three clubs selected at random by ballot.

IMAGES

3) The competition consisting of digital images (PDIs) shall be an open competition, and all genres of photography will be allowed (either in colour or monochrome).

4) Definition of Monochrome - monochrome is defined as a black and white image or one which has been modified by the addition of a single tone to the entire picture. A black and white image which has been modified by the addition of partial toning or by the addition of one colour to any part of the picture is a colour image.

5) Definition of Colour - colour images are ALL images that do not conform to the definition of monochrome.

6) ALL members from the Three (3) clubs shall each enter TWO (2) images in the competition. A total of SEVENTY-TWO (72) images.

THE COMPETITION

7) Each of the images entered in the competition will be reviewed and marked by an independent judge who is registered with one of the Regional Federations that are members of the PAGB.

8) The maximum score that can be award to an image will be TEN (10) points. The judge will be encouraged to award half-marks to create a broader spreads of marks although images of equal merit should be awarded the same score.

9) The images shall all be shown in a random sequence with only the title of each image being declared to the judge prior to marking the image.

10) There shall be a short break after the first THIRTY-SIX (36) images have been marked.

11) The winning team shall be the team that has the highest aggregate score at the end of the competition.

12) In the event of a tie the team with the lowest scoring image shall be eliminated one by one until a winner emerges.

JUDGE’S SELECTION

13) At the end of the competition the judge will be asked to select both the best images in the entire competition and the winning team.

14) If the winner of best overall image is in the winning team another image shall be selected for the best team entry.

15) A small prize will be awarded to the members who entered the best images.
