This class is suitable for all levels. There will be some complete beginners, some who haven't practised for quite a while and some regulars - everyone is welcome, whether you've been practising regularly or not.
Thursday evening (and Saturday morning) classes begin with a full sun salutation Hatha Yoga flow and move into a various asanas, breathwork and balances. No prior experience is needed.
In each 90 minute class you will practice a sequence of yoga poses in which you will move your body and relax the mind. Ellen guides you through, and teaches the foundations of yoga poses you might not know, or builds on the knowledge you may already have.
This is a friendly, welcoming and inclusive class, where you might try new things, and take time out for your own self care.
We also run Friday classes, which are a slower Hatha Yoga, suitable for those who prefer a gentle practice, are complete beginners or are looking to restart their practice.
A class pass is the most affordable way to join our classes.
Niveau: Intermediate
Please arrive five minutes before the start time.
If you have a yoga mat then bring it along, along with any cushion, block or strap you might use in your practice. Mats and blocks are available to borrow and try out in class, if required. Please email yogi@and.yoga in advance of the class to request one.
Our yoga practice is not a workout class – it is completely different. Try not to eat in the 90 minutes before the start of your class - the movement, meditation and relaxation are easier if you have an empty stomach. Try to be well hydrated too if you can, as we can get quite hot in class and dehydration might cause cramps, and affect your balance. It's a good idea to bring water to sip on in the class too.
You'll enjoy the class best if you wear comfy or loose clothing that's easy to move around in and tha you can take layers off as you get warmer, and then layer up to keep comfortably warm as we cool down at the end. This could be loose trousers, leggings or tracksuit bottoms, and a tshirt or comfy top, and also a sweatshirt. Some people like to tuck up under a blanket at the end of class, during final relaxation.
You will not wear shoes during the practice, but some people wear socks/yoga socks when the weather is a bit colder. If you have any questions, then get in touch.
