This May, join local artist Amanda Dilworth at Art in the Park Derbyshire, set within the beautiful surroundings of Markeaton Park, for a relaxing and inspiring watercolour workshop. This month, we are focusing on one of the UK’s most charming subjects — the cute harvest mice.
In this four-hour adult class, you will be guided step-by-step through creating your own detailed watercolour painting of two little harvest mice in a botanical set-up. It is the perfect opportunity to explore fine brushwork, layering techniques, and subtle colour mixing.
What to Expect:
Expert Guidance: Amanda will demonstrate each stage of the painting process, offering clear guidance and individual support.
Take-Home Skills: Participants receive step-by-step instruction sheets to help build confidence and develop techniques to use at home.
All-Inclusive: All materials are provided — simply come along ready to relax and immerse yourself in a few mindful hours of creativity.
Monthly Themes: We explore a new subject every month! Upcoming themes will be announced one month prior to the workshop date, so there is always something new to look forward to.
Suitable for all abilities, including complete beginners.
Instructies
You can download a parking permit to print at home and display in your windscreen during the workshop! If you don't have a printer at home, you are collecting the parking permit on the day. Please park in the 1-hour free area before you collect it, then move your car to a regular bay and display your permit.
Our parking permits are only valid in Craft Village car park which is only 5 min walk from our studio. Please familiarise yourself with the location of the car park by watching one of the videos below:

Disable parking within 5 min walk of the studio. The studio is ground level with no steps. Public toilets including disabled toilet just across the yard from our studio.

Nearest Carpark is the Craft Village Carpark (2 mins walk to the Craft Village). It is sign posted as additional parking area from within the Mundy Car Park. The Mundy Car Park is 5-7 minutes walk through the park. Mundy Carpark is accessed from the Kedleston Rd end of Markeaton Lane. The Main Carpark is off the McDonalds Island/roundabout where the A52 meets the A38. Please allow for a 7-10 minute walk.
