Leaside has hired the Lee Valley legacy course for an evening of white water paddling on Saturday 5th July from 5pm-7pm.
This trip is open to all members, young and old. We will ask adults to rotate from paddling to bankside safety throughout the evening to allow everyone an opportunity to have a paddle with safety cover in place. Youth members can also get involved in providing safety.
Youth members will travel by minibus to Lee Valley with the trailer of boats. Adults will need to make their own way there. We're happy to take your boats in the trailer or on the bus if you need us to - make sure you let us know ahead of time.
We will take a selection of Leaside boats across our fleet to suit different-sized people. If you have a particular boat request, please speak to a member of the team the week before this trip.
If you need other equipment, paddles, and buoyancy aids, please come to Leaside at 3:30pm when we will be loading up the bus
If you're traveling with us from Leaside, we are meeting at 3pm to load the trailer and will return to Leaside at around 8:30pm. If you are meeting us at Lee Valley, please arrive at 4:45pm so we are ready to go at 5pm, when our booking starts.
Please bring snacks and refreshments to have during gaps in paddling, or after the session.
You will need to bring suitable clothing for paddling, and to change once off the water. A wetsuit or drysuit/Cag would be ideal.
We have some wetsuits at Leaside that are available to use for the trip. Please speak to a member of staff, ahead of the trip, if you'd like to borrow one.
Helmets, buoyancy aids, and paddles can all be borrowed from Leaside. We may need to share helmets between paddlers as Leaside has a limited supply.
