Rock Against Racism

Details

In a powerful revival of a historic moment, and in partnership with Stand Up To Racism and Love Music Hate Racism, Rock Against Racism returns to Stretford Public Hall on Sunday, February 15th, 2026, for a day-long celebration of music, community, and resistance. The event will bring together bands, artists, activists, and local residents to stand united against racism, fascism, and hate — and to raise funds for anti-racist initiatives (TBC).

This year’s event pays homage to Stretford Public Hall’s proud history as a hub of political and cultural activism. In December 1977, the Hall — then known as the Stretford Civic Theatre — hosted a now-legendary Rock Against Racism Christmas Party featuring The Fall, The Worst, and poet John Cooper Clarke. Nearly 50 years later, we’re reigniting that same spirit of solidarity through the power of live music and community action.

Organiser’s Statement:

“At a time when racism and fascism are on the rise, it’s more important than ever to come together, to celebrate who we are and what connects us. Rock Against Racism has always been about unity through creativity and action, and we’re proud to bring that legacy back to Stretford.”

Call for Participation:

We’re currently seeking bands, artists, community partners, sponsors to help make this event possible. If you or your organization would like to be involved — whether by performing, running a stall, donating — please get in touch.
