Your geologist guide Steve will lead you on a time-travelling journey from the present day back to almost 200 million years ago. Exploring ancient history in the spectacular outdoor classroom of North York Moors National Park.
From Ice Age Mammals to Jurassic Sea Dragons, Runswick Bay provides a unique insight into our planet’s deep past. Each step along the beach provides a small window into history, via the stories contained in rocks, pebbles and landscape. Steve will help you identify finds and be on hand to split open any rocks that may contain fossils inside.
Our tours combine specialist scientific knowledge with tips on responsible collecting and how to stay safe. On this itinerary we search for ammonites, belemnites, reptile bones and Whitby Jet.
