Open Social Practice πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ

dinsdag, 20 oktober '26   20:05 – 21:05 BST
Living Space, 1 Coral Street, London, SE1 7BE

Details

A 1-hour open practice slot for social practice.

Open to all Jig and a Swig dancers who are actively taking classes with Jig and a Swig.

This is an opportunity to practice whatever steps you would like, with some space, flooring and without upsetting your neighbours! This is not a guided or taught class, and there will not be a teacher present. The session is capped at 8 jiggers.

Open Practice Principles

  • All-abilities are welcome - everyone will be practicing their own steps, so bring any guidance videos/music tracks you'd like to use in the knowledge there won't be a teacher there to answer questions. Use headphones if that works better for you, or take turns using the speaker.
  • By signing up to the session you accept responsibility for warming up and cooling down, and taking steps to prevent injury whilst practicing.
  • Respect the shared space - make sure everyone has equal access to the floor space, take turns on the music and avoid dominating the room with extremely loud dancing - allow everyone the chance to hear their own rhythms!
  • Practice together - pairs, trios, small groups are very welcome to practice together/share steps, so long as you do not dominate the space.
  • Have fun! It's a social practice, so remember to say hello to everyone and enjoy practicing together in a shared space.
  • Jiggers are to clear the space after, including folding and storing the flooring, and clearing any cups and jugs used in the session. The hall must be totally clear by 9.05pm so the venue can shut.

Note: Please don't join this session if you are not an active jigger with Jig and a Swig/do not attend Jig and a Swig classes.

Niveau: Advanced, Beginner, Improver, Intermediate & Absolute Beginner
