Age 6-12
In this two day workshop, students will look at artists who have made work about the animal kingdom.
On day one, they will explore shapes, form and proportion through drawing.
They will then learn how to construct an armature and the technique of applying mod roc (plaster bandage) to create an animal sculpture of their choice.
On day two, we will look at the patterns, textures and features of particular animals. We will learn mark making and painting techniques which we will then apply to their sculptures.
Time and weather allowing, we will take the finished sculptures to photograph outside to create our very own menagerie in the wild!
Please bring a packed lunch and morning snack (NO NUTS). We can provide drinking water and biscuits.
If the weather is OK we will go to the playground on Devane Way during lunch for a run around, please bring warm, suitable clothing and coats.
We will also play games during the day and at lunch if the weather is bad.
