Ages 6-12
In this two day sculpture workshop we will look at contemporary artists who use cardboard construction in their work and discuss links to sustainability.
On day one, students will experiment with creating joints and making 3D shapes with cardboard. They will also make observational studies of objects related to technology. They will then utilise this knowledge to construct a sculpture of a tech object of their choice.
On day two, we will experiment with colour mixing using acrylic paint and how to paint detail. Students will paint their cardboard constructed sculptures to resemble their chosen object. They will be able to take their sculpture home.
Please bring a packed lunch and morning snack (NO NUTS). We can provide drinking water and biscuits.
If the weather is OK we will go to the playground on Devane Way during lunch for a run around, please suitable clothing and coats and sunscreen (if needed).
We will also play games during the day and at lunch if the weather is bad.
