Join us for an afternoon workshop exploring Contact Improvisation as an intentional awareness practice.
We'll move from gentle grounding and floor work into partner exercises and later a jam with music, then wind down with bodywork and finish with a bring-and-share social.
Our journey will follow a gentle arc — we'll start with a slow grounding into ourselves, a chance to actually stop and feel stillness if we wish. From this inner space, we will move outwards in our own way and time into a warm-up and some floor work explorations, discovering ways that we can move in relation to the ground. This will lead us into partner exercises, followed by a jam with music. After the jam, we'll gently bring the energy back down with some bodywork to close the practice, followed by a social (bring food to share!).
We will let our solo and shared practice, the offered exercises and the co-created dance of the jam be a landscape in which our awareness can deepen, with a lightly held intention to simply notice what is.
Level: Something for everyone — this workshop is structured to offer pathways for a range of movement skill levels.
