This summer, join us for our Summer Special Walks - three relaxed, family-friendly adventures designed to bring joy, movement, and connection during the school holidays. Whether your little one is in a sling/pram, your toddler is scooting along, or your older child is speeding ahead on a bike, these walks are made for every kind of family.
Each route is 3–5km, pram- and bike-accessible, with plenty of space to move, play and explore at your own pace. We’ll finish walking by 12pm, but you’re warmly invited to bring a picnic and stay to play, relax, and connect with other families.
These sessions are designed to be inclusive and welcoming, with lots of opportunities for different-aged children to play together, learn from one another, and develop confidence outdoors. If your child has any additional needs, we’re here to help make the walk as supportive as possible—just send us a message if you’d like to talk through what to expect or how we can adapt the session.
Expect:
🗓 Friday 25th July – Pugneys Country Park
A flat, circular route around the lake with space to scoot, bike and stroll. We’ll finish at the adventure playground - and if the miniature train is running (£2 each), we may even hop on for a ride!
🗓 Friday 1st August – Oakwell Hall Country Park
Explore wide paths, woodlands, and open fields at this historic park. There’s something here for every age - perfect for big imaginations and little legs alike.
🗓 Friday 8th August – Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre
A scenic canal-side walk with water, boats, and tunnels to explore. Flat paths make this a great spot for bikes and prams, with potential for a little ride on a canal boat at the end!
Each of these locations have a cafe that we're happy to stop at, and all have play areas for the kiddos. Join us for some fresh air and family fun this summer!
Welcome to our Family Nature Walk! To make the most of your experience, here are a few guidelines:
Weather-Ready Attire: Dress appropriately for the weather, considering layers for changing conditions. Don't forget sturdy footwear!
Essentials: Bring along snacks and drinks to keep everyone energized during the walk. If you need baby slings, waterproof covers, or umbrellas, feel free to borrow them from us.
Communication is Key: Inform us about any physical, emotional, or mental needs you have, ensuring we can tailor the experience to make you feel comfortable and included.
Parental Responsibility: While we're here to guide and support, your baby and children are your responsibility throughout the walk. Keep a watchful eye on them for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Visual Media Consent: Complete the visual media consent form before attending, allowing us to capture and share the wonderful moments of our nature walks responsibly.
