Come along and explore Portraiture with step by step demonstrations and tutoring. We will examine the work of other artists during this informative course and explore a range of materials and techniques. The tutor will adjust the content to suit your level of ability. If you have never done any Portraiture prior to this course I would recommend attending the technique workshop ran by The Drawing Rooms of Deal on Portraiture for Beginners on August 15th at Walmer Castle Education centre- see details on the website.
You will be informed of what materials to bring each week. Its a good idea to wear an apron to protect your clothes and you will need to bring a basic art kit consisting of An HB, 2B Pencil, 6B pencil eraser, putty rubber, and A3 or A4 sketchbook- (smooth white pages would work best rather than a heavy textured paper).
You will also need a basic set of acrylic paints including the colours white, cadmium Yellow, Yellow ochre, burnt sienna, burnt umber, ultra marine blue, cadmium red, crimson red and a set of brushes to include a n0 6 round head brush, a 1" inch flat brush and a 1/2 inch flat brush. A set of watercolours would also be useful but not essential as you can use the class stock.
