*Resetting the Nervous System *

In this 2-hour session, we’ll explore the connection between Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and the body’s ability to recover from stress—and how gentle, intentional yoga can help regulate and restore your nervous system.

You’ll learn:

What HRV actually is, why it matters for your health, and how it reflects your ability to bounce back from stress.
The role of the vagus nerve, and how breath and movement influence your state of calm.
How stress patterns affect recovery—and how yoga supports a shift from “fight-or-flight” to “rest-and-restore.”
We'll also use a simple oximeter to demonstrate how mindful breathing can reduce your heart rate and increase oxygen saturation—giving you real-time insight into your body’s recovery response.

Then we’ll move into a practical, nourishing yoga session that includes:

Gentle movement and mobility to calm the system and increase awareness.
Breath-led practices that encourage vagal tone and relaxation.
A deeply restful Yoga Nidra to anchor the shift into recovery and integration.
You’ll leave with a grounded understanding of how to influence your own HRV and stress response, plus tools to take into your everyday life.

Open to all levels. Especially helpful for those navigating burnout, overwhelm, fatigue, or simply wanting to support long-term health and balance.

Instructies

This is a movement class and standing poses should be performed barefoot or with special grip socks.

All equipment, mats, blocks bricks, blankets and bolsters are supplied but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
The studio is heated to a comfortable level, but please bring layers as the body can cool quickly when relaxing.
Water is available in the studio area.

As with any exercise program, it is always a good idea to consult your Doctor prior to participating.
