Legend has it that sirens would tempt sailors with their beautiful song and drive them to shipwreck on the rocky shores of the islands in the sea. Learn a siren inspired fusion bellydance, with a "techno" mermaid vibe 🌊

Attendees will have the chance to perform the routine at GOTHLA UK (the UK's DARKEST belly dance festival) Friday night show on the evening of 18th July at the Leicester Y theatre!
To take part in the performance, dancers will need to be booked on to at least one GOTHLA UK workshop. But don't worry, the workshops are all epic!

Classes are online and in person at Create Studios Leicester to learn the choreography.
Final rehearsal for those wanting to perform is on Sunday 13th July in Leicester. In person attendance is mandatory for the final rehearsal, so please make sure you can be there.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: This is an intermediate choreography and participants need to be comfortable with layering belly dance movements. Any combinations and layers will be broken down, but basic technique will not.
COSTUME: You will need a mermaid tail shaped skirt (with or without splits) in blue, purple or green, with a fusion belt or chain belt. You will also need a white/cream/nude coloured bra- the more shell or starfish shape the better, or you can use a white bra base and add strings of pearls to create your own. Sea themed accessories encouraged- as are SKULLS, FISH BONES and any other Goth mermaid touches!
