Join me for a cosy creative evening at The Wayfarer, painting Scandinavian-inspired folk art in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Nordic folk art is loved for its decorative patterns, simple shapes and confident colour — often inspired by nature, seasons and traditional design. In this session, we’ll explore those influences in a contemporary way, focusing on pattern, symmetry and expressive mark-making rather than getting things “perfect”.

You’ll choose your design from a curated selection of Nordic-inspired motifs, and I’ll guide you step by step throughout the evening, with close-up demonstrations and plenty of individual support. You’ll be learning from a fully qualified Art & Design teacher, so whether you’re a complete beginner or have painting experience, you’ll feel completely supported.

You'll choose your A3 design and it will be ready prepared for you, then we’ll work with a beautiful range of materials — including gouache, watercolours, acrylics, printing techniques and touches of gold leaf. You can explore what feels right for you on the night while building layers, colour and pattern into your piece.

By the end of the evening, you’ll have created a beautifully finished artwork to take home — something personal, thoughtful and entirely your own.

The Wayfarer, Parbold is a gorgeous, cosy countryside pub — perfect for a creative night out. Think open fires, warm lighting, characterful interiors and that relaxed atmosphere it does so well. Their exceptional seasonal menu is available if you’d like to eat beforehand, and the full bar will be open all evening for drinks, coffees or a glass of something lovely while you paint.
