Telescope Workshop 101: What to Buy
Telescope Workshop 101 is designed to provide personalized guidance for individuals interested in purchasing their first telescope.
The workshop is led by an experienced amateur astronomer who can help you understand the different types of telescopes, mounts, eyepieces, and accessories available, and determine what best fits your interests and observing goals.
The workshop is held one hour before our monthly Star Party, giving you the opportunity to learn from an experienced telescope user before the event. After the workshop, stay for the Star Party to see and compare a variety of telescopes in person, talk with other amateur astronomers, and get a better idea of what might be right for you.
This combination of personalized guidance and hands-on viewing can make choosing your first telescope much easier and more enjoyable.
Please bring writing material to take notes, as well as information on any astronomy equipment you may be considering.
