A professional photographer - Positively Wild K9 - will be attending this event to take action shots and portraits of your dogs. You will be able to buy any prints you want directly from Positively Wild K9.
This session is for handler and dog teams that are new to the amazing world of Mantrailing.
Once you have completed an introduction session you may trail with any Mantrailing Global instructor around the world.
This workshop will start with a brew and a theory section for the handlers followed by practical working the dogs individually to learn the game. This workshop will last approximately 3 to 3.5hrs. You will be required to participate as both a dog handler and a trail layer during all workshops.
Participants will be presented with certificate, rosette and goody bag at the end of the workshop.
NB: Please remember this is a fun sport and in no way training for operational search and rescue.
Dogs must be happy to wait quietly and settled in your vehicle during the theory section and between their goes.
Dogs MUST BE WORKED ON A NON-RESTRICTIVE HARNESS. And wear a flat collar.
If you have a long line of around 10m (not a flexi lead) please bring this to the workshop. You will need either 6 pots filled with a favourite licky treat (for your dog). If you haven’t got 6 pots 2 will do that can be refilled on the session. You will also need a cloth item which has your scent on it. (Nothing precious please).
This is a venue owned by the National Trust. As such we will be adhering to garden biosecurity measures and supporting the Forestry England "Keep it Clean" campaign, so please make sure you are wearing clean boots.
