Our Quail Trails are a step up from our popular Snail Trails (toddler walks). Time will be built in to explore the surroundings, observe wildlife, climb trees, or simply relax.
This 3-mile trail will take us through Clegg's woods behind Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre and up to the edge of Clegg Moor. Our return will be along good paths passing over fields and down to a little stream. We may even get a chance for a pond dip at the end.
A great walk for the whole family.
Abigail's Quail* Trails are designed for children aged 4-10 and their families.
Although it is a child centred event, individual adults are more than welcome to join us! Child-friendly dogs are also welcome, on leads.
*Quails are small ground-nesting bids, which inhabit grasslands, preferring areas of tall vegetation. Quails are more often heard than seen, with repeating chirps (sounds like children playing outside to me!).
As with all Abigail's Trails, this is a small-group guided walk led by a professional Mountain Leader. Price: Family Ticket £12, Adult and Child Combo £8, Individual £6.
